COMMUNITY PARTNERS—Funding decisions are made locally resulting in decisions pertinent to the needs in our
community.
CRISIS SUPPORT AND PREVENTION—Last year local food pantries served 26,903 meals and 225 people found shelter with assistance from United Way.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH ADVOCATES—Last year 294 abused children and 88 victims of sexual assault received services and support, 300 victims of domestic violence found safe shelter and counseling, and 84 people received medication with the support of United Way.
PROVIDING STABILITY—Because of United Way assistance, local mentors served 111 youth, 533 children received leadership training, lessons in positive relationships, positive self-image, and responsibility, and 80 adults received training on homeownership, mortgage management, and financial stability in the last year.
PROGRAMS FUNDED BY UNITED WAY touch nearly every resident of Coles County directly or indirectly, whether it is sports, programs for seniors, Red Cross services, children’s programs, or other United Way funded programs.
